We believe that building strong children and families will strengthen the foundation of our communities. The YMCA provides an inclusive before and after school child and youth development program that supports the needs and priorities of the child, the family, and the school.
Our program provides opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive as they make their way from Kindergarten through 5th grade. We provide:
- Daily physical and educational activities like sports & recreation,
Homework support to assist students in meeting their teacher-assigned requirements,
- Arts, science, math, and technology that allow students to engage in programs often underfunded in public schools,
- Daily nutritious snack options,
- AND social interaction with other students in an inclusive and diverse environment that encourages self-confidence, problem-solving, and leadership through service-learning, character development, and an enriching curriculum.
Service-Learning and Family Involvement:
- Each month we partner will local causes to teach our students about giving back to our community with a hands-on approach. Some of these service-learning projects include Breast Cancer Awareness (Slipper Drive), Project Linus, Stockings for the Troops, and Essentials Drive.
- We also get together as a community and host family events and parent night out events including Halloween Spooktacular, Valentine’s Date Night, and our Holiday Potluck.
